Flexible Casting Epoxy Resin for Transformer Coil Encapsulation - Adaptable to Different Conditions
Transformers may experience various mechanical and thermal stresses during their operation, and our flexible casting epoxy resin for transformer coil encapsulation is designed to adapt to these different conditions.
This epoxy resin has a certain degree of flexibility, which allows it to withstand thermal expansion and contraction without cracking or delaminating. Transformers often go through temperature fluctuations, and if the encapsulation material is too rigid, it can cause stress on the coils and lead to failures. The flexible nature of our resin helps to relieve these stresses, ensuring the long - term integrity of the encapsulation.
In addition to thermal stress, the resin can also handle mechanical vibrations. Transformers are subject to vibrations from the electrical currents passing through them and from external sources. The flexible epoxy resin can absorb these vibrations, protecting the transformer coils from mechanical damage.
Despite its flexibility, the resin still provides good electrical insulation. It effectively separates the electrical components within the transformer, preventing electrical leakage. It also has sufficient strength to protect the coils from normal handling and installation stresses. Our flexible casting epoxy resin offers a balance between flexibility and strength, making it an excellent choice for transformer coil encapsulation in a wide range of operating conditions.
Brief Introduction
LE-8517 is a modified saturated cyclic aliphatic epoxy resin system, combined with LH-8517, a modified weather-resistant anhydride hardener. This fast-curing epoxy is ideal for electronic insulators and is suitable for vacuum casting.
Applications
This epoxy resin is designed for outdoor use in medium and high voltage electrical insulators, including insulators, transformers, and various insulation components.
Processing Methods
Processing options include a conventional gravity casting method under vacuum or an Automatic Pressure Gelation (APG) process. The production methods can be tailored to accommodate the client’s existing manufacturing techniques.
Properties
This two-component system is a saturated cyclic epoxy resin without pre-mixed fillers, remaining in liquid form at room temperature. It provides excellent UV resistance, outstanding thermal shock resistance, superior environmental stability, and exceptional mechanical and dielectric properties.
